How Aircraft Co-Ownership Billing Works
1. Fixed Dues
Hangar rent, tie-down, insurance premiums, and annual inspections accrue whether the aircraft flies 0 hours or 300 hours. These are divided equally or by share percentage every month.
2. Operating Rates
Hourly flight time billed against actual Hobbs or tach meters. Wet rates include fuel (crediting transient fuel receipts out-of-pocket), while dry rates bill time only.
3. Engine TBO Reserves
Every flight hour sets aside $20–$60 into an escrow reserve account. When the engine reaches TBO (Time Between Overhauls), the accumulated reserve funds the $30k–$60k overhaul without cash calls.
